Note from the Principal

Welcome to Mother Lode Christian School. We appreciate your considering our school for your children. The decisions that you make regarding your child’s education are some of the most important choices you will ever make. We understand the demands that are a part of this task and are available to help. MLCS was founded in 1964 as an independent, non-denominational school governed by a Board of Directors. MLCS is a member of the Association of Christian School (ACSI). We believe the combination of excellence in academics with the development of the whole child – spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically – creates the fullness and wholeness of a growing child into a responsible citizen of society.

Academics can enlighten the mind, but a knowledge and understanding of Christ combined with the development of values and character, create light for the whole child which can be expressed to the world. We believe that students are formed in God’s image and are uniquely gifted with varied interests, personalities and experiences. We are committed to providing the opportunities for students to develop the skills to become life-long learners in a community of Christian faith.

“Train a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not turn away from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Our goal is to be in partnership with the home to provide a secure yet challenging environment for the pursuit of academic excellence and Christ-like character to prepare our students to lead productive lives in service to Christ. We invite you to discover the possibilities and positive differences that are part of the fabric of MLCS.

Mission Statement

Type of school
Mother Lode Christian School is a Christ-centered, biblically-inspired, non-denominational private school.
We incorporate the educational strategies of private, public, and home-school learning in order to produce
teachers who love to teach and students who love to learn, love the truth, and love the God who made them.

Vision
Our vision is to prepare a generation of spiritually mature, academically excellent, biblically sound, servant
leaders who flourish as light in the world, living lives worthy of the calling to which they have been called unto the glory of God. ~ Matthew 5:14;Ephesians 4:1-2

Mission
The mission of Mother Lode Christian School is to nurture the whole student – mind, body, soul, and spirit
within the context and community of Christian faith. We exist to help our students understand:
● The importance of cultivating a relationship with Jesus Christ
● The value of their own academic achievement
● The significance of their unique, God-given gifts and skills
● The future of a life completely given to the full potential of serving God in spirit and truth.

Philosophy of Education
We believe education begins in the home; therefore, our goal is to partner with parents who are in
agreement with our vision and mission to prepare their children for their future in Jesus Christ. We
believe education occurs in every area of life, beginning with the value of learning which is nurtured in
the home. We have adopted educational standards that integrate proven public, private, and home school
methodologies of teaching and learning. We believe that every student is a unique, individual person who
is created in the image of God. Because our goal is the educational development of the whole child in
body, soul, mind, and spirit, we are committed to having a staff who wholeheartedly support and embrace
the vision and mission of Mother Lode Christian School.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be inspired, the only infallible authoritative, inerrant Word of God. (II Timothy 3:15, II Peter 1:21)
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, Mathew 28:19, John 10:30)
We believe in the deity of Christ. (John 10:33)
His virgin birth. (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:35)
His sinless life. (Hebrews 4:15, Hebrews 7:26)
His miracles. (Johns 2:11)
His vicarious and atoning death. (I Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9)
His resurrection. (John 11:25, I Corinthians 15:4)
His ascension to the right hand of the Father. (Mark 16:19)
We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature; that people are justified on the single ground of faith in the blood shed of Christ and that only by God’s grace and through faith alone we are saved. (John 3:16-19, John 5:24, Romans 3:23. Romans 5:8-9, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5)
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:28-29)
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:9, I Corinthians 12-13, Galatians 3:26-28)
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, but whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (Romans 8:13-14, I Corinthians 3:16, I Corinthians 6:19-20, Ephesians 4:30, Ephesians 5:18)
